This year’s Love Your Life design for International Overdose Awareness Day was created in honor of my brother, Daniel. He’s pictured here on the bench with his skateboard. The mountains are a gentle nod to strength and healing, even though he didn’t like the mountains at all. He loved the loud chaos of the city of Denver. Including both felt like a way to hold two truths at once: the peace I wish he had found, and the wild, vibrant energy that made him who he was.
